Once
open a time there were many people and Gods and Goddesses living in
the beautiful Mediterranean coast. For millions of years, Gods and
Goddesses effected people's lives in the Taurus Mountains of
Mediterranean. People in the mountains were having a very hard life,
they built houses, castles and cities from stones, made bridges and
roads to connect the mountains to the valley, valleys to the sea,
extracted minerals and used waterways, harvested lands and crops with
animals. Although they had though lives, they were also happily
living and building civilized nations.
For
their productivity, richness and joy, the Gods of Sea and Sky were
envying them. They always asked for some crops to be sacrificed for
themselves. But one day, their wish was different. They called all
the people in the region and ordered them to built two cities in the
valley, one for the God of the Sea, the other for the God of the Sky.
They wanted two beautiful cities to be built before winter, otherwise
they could be damned by the Sky in winter and the navigators in the
Sea would be punished before they were ashore.
In
order to fulfill the Gods' wishes and orders, people of the whole
region
were called together. They collected their powers, tools, equipment
and animals. They hired the country's best architects, builders,
carvers, and workers. There
was a nationwide call for volunteers. They had to build these cities
before harvesting time.
The
other Gods were on the people's side. They started immediately,
searched
for the best places, dug the foundations, built the roads, chapels,
temples, theaters, streets, baths, fountains and houses in a
very short time with the extreme help of beauty and creator God. They
finished
the cities and sacrificed them to the two Gods. Then people went back
to their lives, they harvested their crops and fruits before winter.
Winter
came and everybody went into his or her houses. They were happy and
safe
again. But
in the valley, some Gods were not pleased with everything. They were
getting jealous of the two Gods fortune. Specially the Goddess of
Earth, got angrier
and jealous every time she thought of her most fertile land occupied,
her freshest waters run, her richest minerals and her beautiful
stones used for building the temples and streets, chapels and baths
for the two Gods.
