  Gulhan GULSUN I
was born and lived in the culturally
diverse and historically rich land of Anatolia, Turkey. Vibrant
colors, architectural figures, floral designs, geometric shapes and
repeating patterns were prevalent. As
a child I realized that I was drawn to perceiving the effects of
colors, remembering shapes, designs and
also expressing myself through writing.
In
order to nurture my soul I lived
in different parts of my country and eventually movement
became my life style. While studying in London England, I
discovered
photography and astonished by its
storytelling capacity. I immersed myself in photography and
developed my own style by exploring every
opportunity and practicing obsessively.
Through my exploration of almost 10 years, my interest in different
places and it's patterns has grown bigger.
I capture aesthetic elements in figures and nature. I love vibrant colors. I love intriguing places. I love repeating patterns. These create a unique visual story of places and people. I try to seize and emphasize the beauty in life. I focus on quiet and intriguing place; scenes that add a painting quality to my photography which is enhanced by many essential elements. I search for the right moment when light, texture and color are in harmony so that my passion can reflect the whole story. I have traveled throughout Turkey, Europe , USA and currently living in Vancouver with my husband. My photographs and articles have been printed in newspapers and catalogs in Turkey.
